2022 -Identity - Challenging our assumptions
As a community, whether we mean to or not, we make assumptions about people based on what we see and what we hear using our own frames of reference...
We make assumptions about others and ourselves... Assumptions about who we are, where we belong and what is possible to achieve.
The 2022 TEDxMandurah speakers are focused on presenting ideas that help us to challenge our assumptions around 'Identity'... our personal identity, our community identity, and our planet's identity.
Dr Brett Dellar
Fear Made Me the Man I Wasn't.
Brett is the Founder of "The moMENtum Revolution".
Having suffered from Depression for 30years as a result of emotional traumas & events both as a child and an adult, he found his way out of those dark shadows to now help, inspire & empower other Men.
These traumatic life experiences shaped & controlled Brett’s life more than he realised. The “ManMask” he wore hid his pain and suffering from his family, friends and the rest of the world.
He now speaks publicly to about the stigma around mental health, society’s mindset around Men and how they are expected to act and behave and the challenges Men face in today’s world .
Brett runs programs for Men to help them deal with their issues, reclaim their life back and step into their power.

Rudson Barcoma
Identity - A Product of Choice and Chance.
Everything is, was, and will be you. You are now fabulous because of what has happened and what you chose to happen.
Coming from a strong cultural and religious background, I was in constant fear of persecution, rejection, and abandonment because of my sexuality.
From childhood I created an elaborate plan to make an alter-ego to keep that fear of persecution at bay. Until those two alter-worlds are heading at each other for a head-on-collision.
Plans and actions during my early years and things that happened by chance shaped the person of who I am today. A Community Servant, a Nurse, an Insurance Claims Specialist, a Rotarian, and a successful person in the eyes of my family, friends, and community.
Rudson Al Barcoma BSN RN MSN CMLS ADLM
- Graduated Bachelor in Science of Nursing in Philippines and Australia.
- Completed Qualification of Registered Nurse in Philippines, US, and Australia.
- Post Grad: Master of Science in Nursing Major in Leadership and Management.
- Post Grad: Advance Diploma in Leadership and Management.
- Certified Medical Language Specialist.
